Online marketplace eBay agreed to buy trading cards and collectibles auction house Goldin from Collectors Universe, and in turn will offload the eBay Vault physical storage facility to Collectors' trading card unit PSA.
The companies said Wednesday they signed definitive agreements to enter into a series of transactions that include a commercial deal as well as the asset sales. Valuations for the transactions, which are expected to close in the second quarter of the year, weren't disclosed.
Ebay and Collectors said the transactions will support more streamlined buying, selling, grading, and storage experiences for everyone participating in the trading card hobby in the U.S.
The partnership will extend grading services that authenticate and rate trading cards to customers in the U.S., building on PSA's existing grading expertise. PSA also will introduce a new service which will allow customers to list and sell trading cards on eBay at the time a card is graded.
The two companies will together offer a seamless product experience for collectors that will be unveiled over the coming months, they said.

At this point I'm completely confused as to who has bought what and what belongs to who.
Probably just a matter of time before Fanatics buys them all up.

Here's hoping the only thing about Goldin that goes to eBay is the name.
Goldin, Geoff Wilson, Vegas Dave, Card Collector 2, the wine/NFT dork that was "investing" in cards for a while ... they can all fade away and won't be missed.

Eventually only one company will make all the cards, sell all the cards, grade all the cards and also host the online auction venue for secondary sales.
Oh, the fees they will collect ...

It's Fanatics goal to be that company - and for people who don't consider box breaks to be gambling enough for them, they also have their own Sportsbook (if you aren't in a state that has legalized sports betting you might be mercifully free from the constant commercials for the various Sportsbooks)

unlike here where Sportsbooks have the strict controls of requiring customers to say that they are over 21 and having fine print say where to get help with problem gambling

Not judging anyone who wagers on sports ... I just know what a crackhead I am about cards, that would be the final frontier into the abyss if I ever started betting on games.
