I appreciate Chicago players that begin competing within the city's sports organizations and stay with these teams throughout their careers.
POP is now 22 in BGS 9.5 for the Z peat.
ANYONE that has owned a Z peat before this year knows just how hard these cards are to find in ANY condition, now we have an unlimited amount of MJ's coming from the same source in PERFECT condition and Beckett continues to grade them over and over... How does a card that is impossible to find in MINT condition all of a sudden becomes available out of Taiwan in PERFECT condition almost 20 years later? BECKETT, why not buy back an old grade number MJ Z peat you guys graded a few years ago and crack it open and compare it to the NEW ones getting graded every week???? You guys might actually learn how to spot the difference in a fake card to a real one...FFS 8175274 Basketball 1996-97 Z-Force Big Men on the Court Z-peat Michael Jordan 10.0 9.5 9.5 9.5 9.5 View 8175275 Basketball 1996-97 Z-Force Big Men on the Court Z-peat Michael Jordan 10.0 10.0 10.0 9.5 10.0 View 8175284 Basketball 1996-97 Z-Force Big Men on the Court Z-peat Michael Jordan 10.0 9.5 9.5 9.5 9.5 View 8175285 Basketball 1996-97 Z-Force Big Men on the Court Z-peat Michael Jordan 10.0 10.0 9.0 9.5 9.5 View 8175286 Basketball 1996-97 Z-Force Big Men on the Court Z-peat Michael Jordan 10.0 9.5 9.5 9.0 9.5 View 8175287 Basketball 1996-97 Z-Force Big Men on the Court Z-peat Michael Jordan 9.5 10.0 9.5 9.5 9.5 View 8175298 Basketball 1996-97 Z-Force Big Men on the Court Z-peat Michael Jordan 9.5 9.5 10.0 9.5 9.5 View 8175299 Basketball 1996-97 Z-Force Big Men on the Court Z-peat Michael Jordan 9.5 9.5 9.5 10.0 9.5 View 8175300 Basketball 1996-97 Z-Force Big Men on the Court Z-peat Michael Jordan 9.5 10.0 9.5 9.5 9.5 View
Notice how the MJ and DROB have different T in ZPEAT. The spikes on the T are longer on the DROB.

Does this mean Beckett have FINALLY figured out how to spot a FAKE????

Beckett, it's time you guys take notice. There is going to be a huge amount of FORGED cards hitting the market with these sellers out of Taiwan now starting on all different cards and PLAYERS....MJ-Kobe-Pippen... A cut above, ALL of the Raves /25 /150 /399 /50, Jambalaya 97-98 and 06-07 ,BMOC and Z peat, are all confirmed to be forged or at least attempted so far.... Buying directly off ebay is going to get tricky with never being able to spot the surface differences from a real card to a fake, that is the biggest TELL is these FORGED cards are missing the right TEXTURE.... Each cards has it's own subtle texture that is unique to that years print run and set design, that's where we can stop these Fakes from receiving a grade! The fake A cut above MJ's hitting the market now, are perfect from the scans, but the color and the texture of the card is off, BECKETT MUST have an original card in place to compare for when these are going to get graded, to stop it before it turns into the JOKE like BMOC and Z Peats are. EVERY SINGLE card that gets graded from this day on should FIRST be looked at for consistency to the originals already graded from years ago, because these are going to FLOOD the market and the only way to protect this hobby now is to grade REAL cards.... I don't think ANY card is safe and ALL cards worth a good selling value are probably going to be attempted in the near future, some are going to be tough to fake where others are going to be tough to spot... (06-23-2014, 09:35 PM)hegotgame1515 Wrote: Does this mean Beckett have FINALLY figured out how to spot a FAKE????If you are correct it's going to get difficult to collect, because once they hit Ebay fully then they will automatically be everywhere else. More so if you PC one of the main five (ten?) players.
One way this can be prevented is simply not purchasing Beckett graded cards that have been newly graded. I have seen a ton of these cards listed and I simply look at the Beckett serial number and do not consider bidding. Granted one thing that can cause problems is the increase of selling value of these newer graded cards and the cards that have been graded in the past.

Granted one thing that can cause problems is the increase of selling value of these newer graded cards and the cards that have been graded in the past. But then you are making two assumptions that might turn out wrong. 1-That they will try to grade all their cards before selling 2-That all the cards that are meant to be graded will be sent to be graded by Beckett. I have also seen some raw versions of this card on Ebay lately. Granted this could be because some previous/original owner after seeing this batch of graded ones and how much they are selling for, decided to sell his own. But it could also be one that Beckett rejected. My point is that if we start second guessing these ones, following your reasoning, we should second guess every card within this sets/players unless they have been graded long before or can be compared in person against a proven authentic (pack pulled?) one, raw ones included. |
