RE: Catcher
There were many great catchers. Like most positions, it's all opinion-based. Ivan Rodriguez, Roy Campanella, Bill Dickey, Josh Gibson, Carlton Fisk and Mike Piazza all come to mind but I think most knowledgeable baseball people would put Johnny Bench at the top of their list.
I collect Hall of Fame baseball player cards and cards of current and retired superstars.

RE: Catcher
If you're going by hitting, it would be Mike Piazza.

RE: Catcher
Pre WWII - Mickey Cochran
1946 - 1966 - Yogi Berra
1967-1987 - Johnny Bench
1988 - 2008 - Ivan (Pudge) Rodriguez / Mike Piazza
2009 - Current - JT Realmuto - most would say Yadi, but I'm a homer and it's my list.....LOL

Like comparing the HOF - I think you need to break everything into era's - who was the best at that time as the game, players (who can play), and physical evolution changes.

Look at football.......

Go Phils!!!!!
