At what point do prices drop?

At what point do prices drop?
When do prices start to drop for a player who doesnt even play in the league anymore?

My Maroney PC is getting some dust on it so im looking to pick up some more stuff but i go on the bay and there are prices on there for 90% of the stuff that i dont have marked at 20+.

Ive been collecting Maroney for over a year now and i have yet to witness a single Maroney card sell for more then 20 bucks and i have a fairly nice collection as fair as patch autos and 1/1s.. hell i paid 5 avg on all the rc autos i have.

SO when do people realize that a player is done and just lower the prices to get rid of stuff?

Today's collectors or hoarders as I like to call them pretty much don't. People will always price stuff high and if it doesn't sell would rather keep it and hope that it goes back up at some point rather than let it go for pennies on the dollar and spend more to ship it than they actually sold the card for. If they never sell a card for what they want then what have they really lost a couple bucks at most ?

Its called greedy. People want to get the most that they can for any player, in or out of the league. They put the high BIN or BO so people will offer an over the top offer. Since I don't sell that much, and I don't have a store, I start everything at .99. People don't want market value, they want their value and that is why there is a lot of shill bidding going on too. I do understand wanting the top dollar, but in the end, it is just greed.

Matt Leinart prices are still overhelming. Not sure what Beckett thinks putting some of his base cards at $1 a pop.
Collecting Jimmer Fredette.

I think you are dead on. Its not about helping a super pc guy anymore really. now i have had some guys here and on other boards help me out alot with my pc but its starting to get to the point where i have all base and people still want 3-4 bucks for numbered inserts before shipping of someone who isnt in the league and probably wont be again.

You would think someone would want to at least make something off these cards as they will just sit and never sell at there prices.. Why not help a big PC guy out and make a little cash while doin it?

It's not greed, it's capitalism. If you don't want to pay their asking price, don't. But bashing people because they are asking a price that is higher than you think it should be is silly.

yeah its not like anybody is making you pay their asking price. maybe they really dont want to get rid of it but would for the right price. if it sells great, if it doesnt then their fine with that too. but at least their putting the card out there. it might be one thats really rare and someone wants badly. by the way, i have a glen coffee pc that i will sell any of you for 5 grand. sound good? lol
