Still sucks that Tyler Austin wasn't able to be put into any of the Future Games insert sets due to him getting hit in the head in his first game in TAMPA just after his call up. I believe it was his first or second at bat and BOOM concussion.

Case #5, Box #12
Justin Jackson Blue /500 Clayton Henning Blue /500 David Cruz Orange /250 Jesus Montero Rooke Refractor /300 Mitch Haniger Auto Grade: D Comments: Halfway through the break. I’ll start breaking Case #6 sometime Tuesday night, so get those entries in! Case #5 Summary Grade: A Comments: I had five boxes in the middle of the case that were as bad a stretch as I’ve seen in this break. But it was followed by the best four-box stretch I’ve had, with two Russell autos (including the gold), a superfractor (my second of the break), and a Perfect Game auto. That stretch, plus the two Almora autos at the beginning of the case make this my best case so far. Maybe I’ve just been lucky, but I think there’s a ton of value in this product and the prices are mostly holding steady or dropping. RE: 2012 Bowman Draft 10 case break and contest thread [CONTEST #3 OPEN]
About ready to crack that 6th case. Last chance for entries!
[CONTESTS CLOSED] No further entries accepted -- good luck! There were 23 entries, by the way. One person picked a number under 100, 17 picked numbers between 100-200, 4 picked numbers in the 200s, and one person picked a number in the 300s. I'm not sure the latter is possible in this set, so I think it's basically down to 22 entries. A lot is going to depend on how high the serial numbers are for the Perfect Game/AFLAC autos, assuming there are 2-3 pulled, as these are numbered to 235. Good luck all! Case #6, Box #1 Alexander Muren Blue /500 Anthony Gose Blue /500 Michael Wacha Orange /250 Bryan De La Rosa Blue Refractor /150 Austin Dean Gold Refractor /50 Paul Blackburn Refractor Auto Grade: C- Comments: Here we go!

Case #6, Box #2
Austin Aune Blue /500 Rashad Brown Blue /500 Jason Wilson Orange /250 Matt Moore Rookie Refractor /300 Andrew Heaney Auto Grade: C- Comments: Slow start. And unfortunately, both boxes have had a lot of miscut base RCs. Case #6, Box #3 Jeremy Hefner Blue /500 Kevin Plawecki Blue /500 Nick Travieso Blue Refractor /250 Edwar Cabrera Blue Refractor /250 Addison Russell Perfect Game Auto 072/235 Lewis Brinson Auto Grade: A+ Comments: There we go. I’ve done well by Addison Russell so far this break. His serial number of 072 is lower than all picks, however, so we still don’t have any contest leaders. Our lowest pick was 83, so we’ll probably need to wait for the next blue refractor auto to put someone in the contest lead. I predict a blue auto in the next 3 boxes.

Case #6, Box #4
Tyler Gonzalez Blue /500 Paul Sewald Blue /500 Wilin Rosario Orange /250 D. J. Davis Orange /250 Bralin Jackson Orange Refractor /25 Shane Watson Refractor Auto Grade: C Comments: I feel a blue refractor auto coming. Case #6, Box #5 D. J. Davis Blue /500 Edward Sappelt Orange /250 Leonys Martin Blue Refractor /250 Marcus Stroman Auto Grade: D+ Comments: I don’t think I’ve seen a numbered Harper yet. Case #6, Box #6 Yoenis Cespedes Blue /500 Brett Wiley Blue /500 Mitch Gueller Orange /250 Jacob Stallings Blue Refractor /250 Wil Myers Futures Game Jersey /199 Paul Blackburn Auto Grade: C Comments: Guess my feeling was wrong.
Is that 6 boxes in a row without an Almora autograph? Doesn't seem possible. lol. Hopefully you'll seem some low-number Harpers from here out.

Case #6, Box #7
Jeffrey Popick Blue /500 Taylor Ard Blue /500 Patrick Merkling Orange /250 Yoenis Cespedes Rookie Refractor /300 Alfredo Rodriguez Blue Refractor /250 Richie Shaffer Best Die Cut Refractor /99 Paul Blackburn Blue Refractor Auto 134/150 Grade: B Comments: My feeling was just one box too early. Nice to get a blue refractor, but this wasn’t my ideal subject. I’m hoping there’s one more colored auto hit in this case. Interestingly, Blackburn’s serial number was pretty high, high enough to eliminate all the contestants who made predictions under 125. Two contestants picked 125, so they now lead. If they should hold onto the lead throughout the remaining 4.5 cases, the Monday night football game will break the tie. Case #6, Box #8 Yasmani Grandal Blue /500 Richie Shaffer Orange /250 Xavier Avery Rookie Refractor /300 Xavier Avery Blue Refractor /250 Nicholas Grim Gold Refractor /50 Shane Watson Auto Grade: D+ Comments: Just got braces on my teeth this morning. I’m 47 – what’s up with that? Talk about an indignity. |
