2018 Topps Brooklyn Collection Baseball isn’t just an online-exclusive set. The all-autograph release is available only to members of the 582 Montgomery Club.
For $1,000, those who order get five cards. All are autographs, all are on-card and everything is numbered to 25 or less.
The checklist is split in two with different designs and player groupings for each. The company claims layouts are from “recently recovered, lost Topps designs.” Both are quite different, although they definitely reflect the premium price tag. For starters, the cards are printed on thick 72 pt stock. There’s also intricate gold foil enhancements on each.
Some overlap exists between the players in both designs. However, several players are exclusive to just one side of the checklist.
Base versions for both designs have 25 copies. Parallels include Red (/15), Black (/10), Purple (/5) and Platinum (1/1).
582 Montgomery Club members were given just a couple of days to decide whether they wanted to purchase a pack of 2018 Topps Brooklyn Collection. The total production run was 1,000 packs.

Interesting, I purchased a membership to the 582 Montgomery club back on 11/15, but have not received anything about it or any offers and now I see this… Is there supposed to be a special site for members or place to go on their website?
@Keith — An email was sent to members. But apparently not all of them — yet. I signed up too with no email thus far and contacted them on Twitter. They said the emails would be coming.
5 cards , with multiple parallels with a 100 card set to make?
I don’t see even the most hard core of collectors putting “that” set together.
Additionally, at a cost of $200 per card, how many of these cards will have that
value on the secondary market?
Sure, the Ohtani 1/1 will easily pay for quite a bit, and even many of the other player 1/1
cards should do well, but won’t likely cover the cost of a pack.
I don’t see too many people being happy here.
@Richard – It’s not a “set” kind of product. There’s a strict limit on packs that can be ordered. I guess someone could chase it, but doubtful.
I got 2 e-mails regarding this. $1000 seems a bit pricey to me
I too didn’t recieve a email about this. With such a long list of autos that are undesirable to me, a $1000 is too much of a gamble. I will have to pass on this one and hope they come out with something more affordable later
Sounds like a bloodbath to me, $200 an auto with maybe 10 guys on that list with that kind of value? I don’t look to make money on card purchases, but I certainly make sure I’m not going to throw money down the drain. I can’t see the value in a single box of this.
If there are 25+15+10+5+1 (56) of all 100 cards, that comes out to 5600?
And there are 5 cards per pack at a limit of 1000 packs?
How does that work? Some players don’t have all the parallels?
@Chad – Likely not all players have every type of card.
Apparently some people received a mail in card for a player like Jeter or Gleyber Torres, giving them 6 cards. I feel like the red headed step child after not receiving one of those in my order.
