2019-20 Panini NBA Stickers (and Cards) Box Breakdown – Beckett Pricing Insider
Released in late October, Panini NBA Stickers returned with a souped-up version of the product both in content and price. New this year, each packet contains a trading card (along with five stickers), including four different types of parallels (silver, blue, gold and black) on foil cardstock. Based on the release date, this product actually contains the first cards of this year’s rookie class in their pro uniforms. Presented here are the highlights from the opening of a 50 pack box – the collection is comprised of 493 stickers and 100 trading cards; individual packs retail for $1.50, a higher price tag than previous releases.
Rookie Cards – 8
RJ Barrett, De’Andre Hunter, Rui Hachimura, Romeo Langford, Tyler Herro(2), Chuma Okeke, Jordan Poole
No parallels – based on this sample of pulling RCs at a 15% clip, don’t expect to open a box and get many. Among this group, Barrett, Hunter, Hachimura and Herro are off to solid starts. Poole is getting playing time with the woeful Warriors but has struggled with his shooting; Langford has spent time in the G-league, while Okeke is hurt. Prices are a bit inconsistent, but the Barrett and Herro have seen sales as high as $6.00.
Parallels – 8
Silver:
John Wall, Chris Paul, Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Ben Simmons
No lack of star power here as all five are/have been All-Stars, though even the LeBron and Giannis can be had for less than $5.00.
Blue (/299):
John Collins, Jrue Holiday, Kyrie Irving
In this particular case, the numbered parallels don’t yield much in the way of value.
Rookie Stickers:
Rui Hachimura (DRAFT), PJ Washington (DRAFT), Tyler Herro (DRAFT), Sekou Doumbouya (DRAFT), Nassir Little (DRAFT), Romeo Langford, Darius Garland, RJ Barrett, Jordan Poole, Ja Morant, Keldon Johnson
Morant is currently the best of the bunch, but just not a lot of rookies considering how many stickers come in a box.
Though this particular box wasn’t especially fruitful, Panini has definitely increased the collector appeal of its sticker line with the introduction of cards and parallels. The relatively low buy-in and prospect of pulling a serial-numbered rookie should draw collectors in and perhaps purchase a product they haven’t in the past.
