2020 National Sports Collectors Convention Postponed, Tentatively Rescheduled for December
The 2020 National Sports Collectors Convention has been postponed. However, it has not been cancelled. It has tentatively been rescheduled to take place from Saturday, December 12 to Wednesday, December 16, still at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
The decision came following a vote by the National’s Board of Directors based on the health and safety concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Even as some areas in the United States start to open up again, there are still widespread restrictions on large gatherings. Travel, particularly international, has also been impacted.
“We have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic situation with our partners along with city and state officials. It has become clear postponement is the appropriate course of action.” said John Broggi, NSCC Show Promoter.
“It was a very difficult decision to postpone the 41st National but we feel it is the right decision given the number of critical unanswered questions and uncertainty concerning the impact of the COVID-19 crisis,” said Dan Berkus, NSCC Show Promoter. “We are currently working with Atlantic City officials and our NSCC team will be coordinating with exhibitors, attendees and signing guest to ensure a smooth transition to the new December 12-16, 2020 dates.”
For the time being, the Atlantic City Convention Center is being used for a field hospital.
Additional info for dealers and attendees will be made available through the National’s website.

It’s probably the right thing to do to postpone The National. The big question is who want to go to New Jersey in December?
As someone who sets up every year, I can assure you I won’t be driving to Atlantic City on December 12. I’m guessing they will get enough push back on this from people across the country that they will end up cancelling. It’s a really unfortunate thing, but this is already a terrible location for this show anyways. Obviously, the hobby is in a much better place than it was 4 years ago, but I have never seen a national as dead as that one, before or since.
One Snowstorm or Blizzard in December and the Show is Doomed !!
