2020 Topps WWE Raw vs. Smackdown Brings the Two Shows Back Together
Update (June 11, 2020): This set has been cancelled and will not be released.
It’s a battle of the brands with 2020 Topps WWE Raw vs. Smackdown wrestling cards. After giving the two shows their own individual sets in 2019, they’re coming back together. The configuration is a familiar one for many of Topps’ recent WWE sets with two hits per hobby box including one that’s guaranteed to be an autograph. On top of these, every pack has a pair of inserts or parallels.
2020 Topps WWE Raw vs. Smackdown Base Set Basics
The main set totals 100 cards. As you’d guess, stars from both brands are on the checklist. However, they come with slightly different designs that go behind a change of colors.
Parallels include Foilboard (1:2 packs), Green (/99), Silver (/25), Gold (/10), Printing Plates (1/1) and Red (1/1).
Autographs, Memorabilia Cards and Other Inserts
Similar to the base set, Raw Autographs and Smackdown Autographs have separate designs. Blue (/50), Silver (/25), Gold (/10), Printing Plates (1/1) and Red (1/1).
Multi-signatures sets include Rivalries Dual Autographs and Triple Autographs. In both instances, there are Gold (/10) and Red (1/1) versions.
Memorabilia forms come in a couple of familiar formats, Mat Relics, which use swatches of canvas from Survivor Series 2019, and Shirt Relics. Both have Blue (/50), Silver (/25), Gold (/10) and Red (1/1) parallels. Mats also come with Green (/99) parallels. Additional autographs are available for select cards. These have ten copies each plus a one-of-one Red.
Letter Patch cards are the third type of hit in 2020 Raw vs. Smackdown. These manufactured relics spell out “Raw” and “Smackdown.” For each individual letter, there are three different superstars.
Continuing with Topps’ trend of honoring specific stars, there’s The Miz Tribute. These look back on the career of the reality star turned wrestler turned wrestling reality star. Autograph versions, limited to ten copies each, are also randomly inserted.
UUDD 5th Anniversary puts a spotlight on Xavier Woods’ web show, highlighting guests and moments. These have additional autographs as well, including Silver (/25), Gold (/10), Red (1/1) and Printing Plate (1/1) parallels.
Other inserts include Raw vs. Smackdown Art Cards, which feature the work of Hal Haney and Rich Molinelli, Behind the Scenes and Rivalries that go back as far as the first time the shows split nearly 20 years ago.
