2020 Topps x Cal Ripken 2131 Baseball Highlights The Streak from the Hall of Famer’s Perspective

2020 Topps x Cal Ripken 2131 isn’t just another tribute set to the Orioles legend. This time around, Ripken himself provided some of the input and insight into the final product.

Available through the Topps website, it’s a collaborative effort that comes in a couple of forms. The first is a regular set. There’s no frills or guaranteed chase elements but there is everything on the main checklist. For those wanting some Ripken ink, there’s a premium Collector’s Edition that guarantees an autograph as well.

2020 Topps x Cal Ripken 2131 Checklist Overview

The main set has 50 cards, most of which surrounds Ripken’s most notable accomplishment — The Streak. The checklist has five thematic sections:

• The Journey to 2131
• Record-Breaking Game
• The Streak Ends
• The People Behind The Streak
• Cal’s Personal Collection

Like other Topps collaborations, the subject — in this case, Ripken — helped pick the designs. Beyond that, there’s also the Hall of Famer’s insights on the cards’ text, offering a unique vantage point.

Autographs have on-card signatures. They’re also numbered. Base versions have 50 copies with additional parallels numbered to 31, 21, 8 and 1.

Although autographs are a guarantee in the collector’s sets, they’re also randomly inserted in some regular versions as well.

2020 Topps x Cal Ripken 2131 Baseball is available on the card maker’s website for several weeks or while supplies last. Print runs will be announced when the sales window closes.
