2022 Topps x Naturel 1952 Baseball offers an artistic twist on the company’s first flagship release, finding roots in the set’s legend. Available in both standard and Collectors Edition boxes, both mix standard packs with an encased art card.

2022 Topps x Naturel 1952 Baseball Checklist Overview

The 52-card base set is a mix of veteran stars, standout rookies and some retired greats. You can see how 1952 Topps Baseball inspired the design but it’s stands on its own using photos instead of artwork and different shapes for the nameplate.

Boxes have one base pack, which has five regular cards and one parallel. Levels include Silver Foil Puzzle Back (/150), Rainbow Foil (/99), Seaform Foil (/75), Pearl Foil (/52), Coral Foil (/25), Shipwreck Wood (/10), Ocean Wave Foil (/5), Treasure Gold Foil (1/1). Each Collectors Edition box has one exclusive Red/Green Foil parallel as well.

Encased Art Cards showcase Naturel’s work, which draws inspiration from using geometric shapes with an impressionist effect. His work was part of both Topps Project 2020 and Topps Project70.

Boxes have one such art card from a checklist of 12 players. There’s a big focus on players who originally appeared in 1952 Topps including Mickey Mantle. However, a handful of current stars are also available.

Parallel levels and print runs are similar to the base set.

A Naturel self-portrait insert lands 1:12 packs. An autographed version is 1:50.

While 1952 Topps is the main inspiration, Naturel took things a step further, incorporating the legend of how leftover cases of the now iconic set were sent to a watery grave at the bottom of the Hudson River.

2022 Topps x Naturel 1952 Baseball is exclusive to the company’s website and available while supplies last. Standard boxes are $40 while Collectors Edition boxes run $120.
