2023 Topps Garbage Pail Kids Valentine’s Day Is Canceled shows that love hurts. And a battlefield. And doesn’t always go according to plan. The online-exclusive release (which sold out almost instantly on Topps’ website) has lots going on for an overall small set.
Every box starts with a 20-card base set. These give classic Garbage Pail Kids a holiday twist. It’s 10 different cards each with the usual A and B name variations.
All 10 cards also have C Name Variations that are short prints landing one per box.
Standard parallels come in several levels. Red Hearts are three per box while Black Hearts are just one per box. Foilboard, Gold Foil (/50) and Rainbow Foil (/25) are also available.
Each box has a pair of Dating Profiles inserts.
Ermsy, who did 2022’s Entertainment Blend set that featured several Garbage Pail Kids, has a special card that lands 1:5 boxes.
Sketch cards are also randomly inserted. A total of 20 artists contributed to the set.
Even the product’s packaging has a chase element. While the vast majority of boxes feature Mick Jagger, 1:10 have Lovely Lea instead.
