2024-25 SPx Hockey Details
2024-25 SPx Hockey continues with the longstanding brand’s origins. The content has evolved alongside with the hobby as a whole, but SPx has been about technology from the beginning. In the mid ’90s, it came through in holograms. Today, there are other more recent innovations as well as more modern premium additions like autographs.
2024-25 SPx Hockey Checklist Overview
The base set features 150 total cards — 100 veterans and 50 rookies. First-year players land every other pack or four per hobby box.
Parallels include:
- Silver – Veterans 1:4 packs, Rookies 1:8 packs
- Gold – Veterans 1:12 packs, Rookies 1:24 packs
- Radiance – /100
- Grand Finale – /50
- Silver Spectrum – /25
- Gold Spectrum – 1/1
Select rookies also have autographs, all of which are serial-numbered. These get additional parallels in Red (/25), Silver Spectrum (/10) and Gold Spectrum (1/1).
Autographs
Signatures are part of the chase in 2024-25 SPx Hockey. That said, they’re not among the product’s hobby box guarantees.
Superscripts (1:160 packs) and Rookie Superscripts (1:120 packs) are among the standalone themes. Both get the Gold parallel treatment.
Other tough autograph sets include Holographs (1:240 packs) and Star Focus Signatures (1:270 packs).
Buyback autographs featuring original 1996-97 SPx Hockey cards are numbered to just 15 copies each.
Additional Inserts
SPx’s hologram-inspired roots come through in several of the product’s inserts. Among them is Rookie Holograms (1:86 packs), which have tough Blue (/25), Red (/10) and Gold (1/1).
Holoview F/X returns with both veteran (1:10 packs) and rookie (1:7 packs) lineups. Both have Blue (/399) and Red (/25) versions as well.
All-Time Holoview inserts (1:40 packs) are also on the 2024-25 SPx Hockey checklist.
Finite is another name connected with early SPx sets. Here, it’s as inserts with rookies and stars combining to fall two per box. Base versions are numbered to 999 with additional Bronze (/599), Silver (/399), Gold (/199), Purple (/99), Tuxedo (/25), Silver Spectrum (/10) and Gold Spectrum (1/1) parallels. Some players also have autographs.
Photography may be pretty much all digital now, but SPx Game Film (1:14 packs) take things back to the days before iPhones when Kodak and one-hour photo labs reigned supreme. Blue (/199) and Red (/10) versions are available for these as well.
Other inserts include Bound for Glory (1:8 packs), Excellence Redefined (1:20 packs), SPxCellence (1:100 packs), SPx Force (1:160 packs, Rookies 1:267 packs), Holo’d Hardware (1:267 packs), and Salute (1:800 packs). Several of these have scarce autograph versions as well.
