The Spring 2017 Sportcard & Memorabilia Expo is just a few weeks away and collectors from around the world are heading to the show with box breaking on their mind. Luckily for them, Upper Deck is once again holding a massive redemption program at its booth along with many of the fun activities and interactions they have come to expect.

It all starts on Friday, May 5 at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario and runs through the weekend. There will be promotions for those breaking boxes or those brave enough to crack a case of certain 2016-17 Upper Deck products and there are plenty of Parkhurst Priority Signings autographs to be found inside.

For those purchasing a box of 2016-17 Upper Deck Series Two, 2016-17 Fleer Showcase, 2016-17 O-Pee-Chee Platinum, or 2016-17 Upper Deck Ice from a Certified Diamond Dealer on the show floor can take them and the special voucher they receive to the company’s booth in the corporate area. From there, they line up to break open the box in front of an Upper Deck employee and will then receive a three-card Spring Expo Promotional Pack.

What is inside those packs? For starters, there will be at least two UD Midnight cards that are limited to 25 copies apiece. These cards parallel the 2016-17 Upper Deck Series Two base set (cards 251-450).

The third card in the pack will either be an additional UD Midnight card or either a Parkhurst Priority Signings autograph or an instant redemption card which can be exchanged at the booth for an Upper Deck Authenticated piece.

Those breaking sealed cases of 2015-16 Upper Deck Premier, 2015-16 Upper Deck Black, 2015-16 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection purchased on the floor from Certified Diamond Dealers will not only get five of the previously mentioned packs, but they also receive either a Parkhurst Priority Signings Exclusives card or an Upper Deck Authenticated piece. Some of the cards may even be dual autographs, but breakers are limited to two cases per day.

Returning for a second straight show are the SP Promotional Upper Deck Draft cards. Last show, some collectors chose to get a limited card of Mitch Marner and William Nylander for breaking a couple of boxes. This time, cracking two sealed boxes of 2016-17 releases like Artifacts, Upper Deck Series One, Trilogy, SP Game Used or SPx will get you Patrik Laine (SP4) and Matthew Tkachuk (SP5).

One interesting addition to Upper Deck’s booth this time is UD Bounty Program. At the beginning of the show, the company will announce the set collectors need to complete at the show in order to get a dual autograph card featuring Marner and fellow Maple Leafs rookie Auston Matthews. Limited to just the first two collectors to build the insert set, the chase will be an intense one.

As expected, Upper Deck also plans to offer up free raffles, a display of Upper Deck Authenticated products at its booth. The company also sponsors the free kids admission (coupon can be found in the Expo magazine) and will be also handing out Goon: The Last Enforcer promotional sets to collectors wearing a hockey jersey at the show.
