Panini No Longer Accepting Expired Redemptions
For years, Panini has worked with collectors on redemptions and, when they could, expired redemptions. It appears as though there has been a shift, though.
On Friday, April 17, a collector reached out to the company’s customer service Twitter account looking for help with a Marquise Goodwin redemption from 2013 Panini Black Football.
The account responded, “Hello. We are no longer accepting expired redemptions.”
Hello. We are no longer accepting expired redemptions.

It was made clear that this wasn’t just for specific cards but rather part of a wider change covering all expired redemptions.
Yes. This is an official policy change.

Sorry, But we can’t do anything going forward for any expired redemptions.

At present, Panini has not posted anything in regards to the policy change on their site or blog.
The most current Terms and Conditions document regarding Panini’s redemption program on their website is dated March, 2019. It does note that redemptions are no longer valid once expired. However, many collectors have still been able to get available cards or points for the Panini Rewards program, even after the date.
Expired redemptions added into the system prior to the change will still be honored.
Pending redemptions that we’re entered expired prior to the new system would still be honored if In stock or would revert to rewards points if not in stock

Redemptions are typically valid for approximately two years following a product’s release date.
On April 12, Panini did announce on their blog that they are overhauling their online customer service platform.
We have reached out to Panini regarding the redemption policy change but have not received an immediate response. We will update if we do.
Don’t worry, all the unredeemed cards that Panini has in stock will be available on their points redemption site.
I once pulled a redemption card for an expired Kobe Bryant auto out of a mixer box at Target and had the card in-hand a week later, so I’m very sorry to hear about this new policy.
The most disappointing detail of the new policy is this – “or would revert to rewards points if not in stock”
These rewards points are terrible … no current product to choose from, and the last time I picked 5 cards with 650 rewards points they charged me $13 for shipping.
Very, very unimpressed with this on many levels.
That makes me not want to buy older boxes. Panini should stop putting redemption cards in boxes if they cant honor them no matter how old they are.
Now that the business is moving towards Fanatics, are we worried that Panini will stop sending out redemptions at all?
Panini still has multiple years left on both their football and basketball licenses.
I pulled a Russell Wilson Rookie patch auto that expired. Damn, I don’t have the heart to throw it away.
