Beckett Sports Card Hot / Cold – May 8, 2023
Welcome to another Beckett Sports Card Hot/Cold where we take a quick and fun look at what’s hot and what’s not in the worlds of sports and sports cards.
We might be getting deeper into the playoffs for basketball and hockey, but it’s also Bowman season. 2023 Bowman Baseball continues to draw a lot of the hobby’s attention. Between more collectors finding it at retail, ongoing breaks and hobby shop trips, and an overall lull in new 2023 baseball products right now, there are plenty of reasons for it. But the biggest is the new crop of prospects getting their first MLB cards and autographs. That’s what the brand is all about.
Joel Embiid was finally named the NBA’s MVP. He’s been one of the best in the league for several years. This year, there was some debate as to whether he or Nikola Jokic would take it home. Both made a strong case but Embiid proved to win over the vast majority of voters. He also has the 76ers tied with the Boston Celtics through four games in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Jokic and Phoenix’s Devin Booker are making strong showings against one another in the West. Their series is also knotted up at two games a piece, although the Suns have momentum having fought back from an 0-2 deficit.
I am sick and tired of sports card market being dominated by men there is so many women’s sports where women and trans women are better competetors than the bulls. Please make the card market submit to my demands that women receive better representation
Heater, You make the card market submit to your demands! Why do you have to demand that someone else do it for you?
Where are we Ryan? I need my hot cold
Where are the last 2 weeks worth of Hot/Cold. I havent seen a new list for May 15 or 22? WTF Beckett?
I do these typically on my own time on Saturday mornings. I am currently dealing with some pretty major life things at the moment that are either taking up my extra time or I need a break in that extra time that is left. Apologies for inconveniencing you.
