Game-used dress

By Chris Olds | Beckett Baseball Editor

Spring training is the home of surprises — and we have our first for the year.

It’s a game-used dress.

Fans who attend New York Mets home spring games at Tradition Field in Port St. Lucie, Fla., beginning on March 6 will have a chance to own this dress, which is made from the leather shells of 130 game-used MLB baseballs.

Yep, game-used baseballs.

It was created by Florida-based artist Jennifer Hitchner and it will feature autographs from members of the team as they are added this spring. The proceeds from tickets sold for the dress will benefit the Port St. Lucie Little League.

Artistically interesting…..but please stay away from me if you are wearing it. The funk of 130 game used baseball leather I couldn’t handle.
