Heads Up on a Signed Hockey Helmet
Upper Deck is giving away this autographed helmet from the 2009 NHL Rookie Photo Shoot to one lucky collector. The company plans to release the pertinent details of how on Monday via its Facebook page. Until then, here’s a status report on some of the NHL’s top young superstars.
John Tavares – Islanders star is the early favorite to win the Calder Trophy.
Viktor Hedman – Logging heavy minutes on the blue line for the Lightning.
Matt Duchene – Closing in on double digit goals early in his rookie season in Colorado.
Cody Hodgson – He’s Canucks property, but he won’t play in the NHL for a few years.
Mikael Backlund – The Calgary Flames gave him a taste last year but he could be a late-season call up.
Tyler Bozak – He got his taste of the NHL and he’s now playing for the Toronto Marlies.
Jonas Gustavsson – “The Monster” has had some health issues but he’s played well for the Leafs.
Jared Cowen – He’s Ottawa property and still playing in the WHL.
James Van Riemsdyk – He has a real chance to win the Calder Trophy and he’s one of the top scorers for the Flyers this season.
Colin Wilson – His dad, Carey, played in the NHL and he got a taste of the NHL with Nashville. He’ll be back.
Bobby Sanguinetti – This Rangers defenseman is on the verge of sticking in the NHL. He had a short run this season.
P.K. Subban – This Habs prospect is currently playing for Hamilton.
Eric Tangradi – He’s a big kid who’s currently playing in Scranton, and he could be there a few seasons because the Stanley Cup champion Penguins have a deep roster.
Logan Couture – This future offensive star has been up and down between San Jose and Worcester this season.
