Panini teams with Broncos for stadium set

Fans who attend the Bills-Broncos game Sunday in Denver will receive a set of nine Panini America cards featuring the stars of the home team.

But they’ll also find something else.

Alongside their cards of Peyton Manning, Von Miller, Julius Thomas, Demaryius Thomas, Terrance Knighton, DeMarcus Ware and Aqib Talib will be two other cards.

Those feature former Indy Racing League driver Sam Schmidt, who is part of a project that has allowed him to get back into the seat of a race car 14 years after a crash on the track left him as a quadriplegic. One of the game’s sponsors is Arrow, and the Schmidt Project is one of the technology company’s initiatives.

Despite his time racing in the IRL, it’s the first appearance of Schmidt on a trading card.
