Rookie Watch: Kevin Huerter – Beckett Pricing Insider
Shooting guard Kevin Huerter is now starting in the Atlanta backcourt alongside fellow rookie Trae Young. Huerter has become a reliable scorer and serious three-point threat for a Hawks team that has been playing better as of late.
At the time of this writing, he is in the midst of a streak of eight straight games of double digit scoring including a 29-point outburst in a victory over Philadelphia where he canned five three pointers.
Huerter, Young, and second-year power forward John Collins form a nice “Big Three” foundation the Hawks can build around in the coming years.
Collectors seem to have caught on to Huerter’s recent emergence as increased market activity and strong sales have given his card prices a boost. His Panini Prizm Silver Prizm has risen to the $20 mark. Mny of his other Prizm parallels seeing price increases as well. Also, Huerter rookie signatures have been solid sellers, including a sale of the tough-to-pull Donruss Next Day Autographs card that surpassed high book value at the time.
Expect continued price adjustments if the sweet-shooting 20-year old can continue this breakout campaign and vie for All-Rookie honors.
