Pascal Siakam is far from a household name. Even in basketball circles, he’s not a star. At least not yet.

Last night, with Kawhi Leonard sitting out, Siakam hit the dagger buzzer-beating basket to seal a 111-109 Raptors win over Phoenix. Granted, it probably shouldn’t have been as close as it was.

Siakam had ten points and 12 rebounds in the game. For the season so far, he’s averaging 15 points per game, pretty much double 2017-18.

And while Siakam is a top contender for the NBA’s most improved player this season and his cards are drawing more interest, he’s still flying largely under the radar. Part of that comes from playing in Toronto. Siakam also isn’t as flashy as a lot of other players. But he’s getting things done and playing a major role in making the Raptors contenders in the east.
