Theo Epstein’s deal is done … is The Curse of the Billy Goat next?
By Chris Olds | Beckett Baseball Editor | Commentary
Theo Epstein, the man who built the Boston Red Sox into a World Series winner and killed The Curse of The Bambino, has traded one curse for another.
He’s now officially the president of baseball operations for the Chicago Cubs.
Epstein is one of few MLB executives to have appeared on a baseball card — eight in the Beckett.com database. (He was set to sign 200 cards for Topps‘ Fan Favorites sets in 2005 and 2006 — cards still listed as redemptions in the database — but I don’t believe he signed.)
His first card can be found in the 2004 Red Sox Team Issue set, while the remainder of his cards can be found in Fan Favorites — four 1/1 printing plates and Refractors of his cards in the two sets.
The real question on everyone’s minds, though, is our poll … let us know what you think by voting or leaving a comment below.

Any photos of the 2004 Team Issue card of Theo or any of the players in the set? I’m curious what these cards look like and where to find them (none in the beckett.com Marketplace).
I Voted No, Based Only On The Fact That I’m A Cardinals Fan… But honestly, if He Has The Money to Do It, He Could Very Easily Put Together A Championship Team…
