In a career now in its eighth different decade, Glover has credits in nearly 200 different films and television shows. Among them are some of the biggest franchises in box office and small screen history.

As collectors, how do we often determine whether something is big? It gets trading cards, of course.

To date, Glover has more than 150 different autograph cards dating back as far as 2002. Although a huge number of these are parallels, it’s still an impressive number for any actor. Even more impressive is that the English actor has signed cards for ten different franchises, which is the focus we’re taking here rather than individual cards (which would likely result in a lot of Star Wars rarities).

10. Blake’s 7

When you’re a character actor, not every role is going to be a big one. Glover appeared in just one first season episode of Blake’s 7. Still, that was good enough to land a spot among the autographs in Unstoppable’s 2013 retrospective set for the show.

9. Hammer Horror

2010 Strictly Ink Hammer Horror Series 2 is a survey of the the famous British film series. Glover has an autograph for his role in 1967’s Quartermass and the Pit where he stars alongside James Donald and Barbara Shelley.

8. The Saint

Glover has autographs in two sets for The Saint, another show from the early part of his career. He guested on a pair of episodes, one in 1964 and the other several years later in 1968. Interestingly, Glover’s card in 2003 Cards Inc. The Very Best of The Saint has him as Ramon Falconi, the role he played in 1968. 2017 Unstoppable Cards The Saint Series 1 shows him as Hilloram from the 1964 episode.

7. Harry Potter

As far as franchise popularity goes, this one could be higher. But Glover’s appearance in The Chamber of Secrets was as the voice of Aragog. On the ensuing card from Artbox, even the creature is hard to make out. Still, it’s another impressive checkmark on Glover’s resume.

6. The Avengers

The Marvel Cinematic Universe might be the one mega movie franchise that Glover isn’t a part of. That said, he was in The Avengers — just not the one with Iron Man and Captain America. Rather, it was in four separate appearances on the classic British TV show, each time playing a different character. Between 2005 and 2019, Glover’s signature appeared in three different Avengers sets.

5. Doctor Who

When it comes to British television shows, it doesn’t get much bigger than Doctor Who. Glover was a part of two separate four-episode stints. In 1965’s season two, he played Richard the Lionheart. He returned to the show in 1979 for the four-part “City of Death.” 2006 Strictly Ink Doctor Who: Doctors, Companions and Villains Trilogy is the only time Glover has signed for the show.

4. Game of Thrones

When it comes television roles, Glover’s turn on Game of Thrones as Grand Maester Pycelle was his most prolific. He appeared in 31 episodes between seasons one and six. Rittenhouse has included his signature in several GOT sets with the first being Season 1. Most recently, he was in 2021’s Iron Anniversary Series 1 with several different Inscription Autographs.

3. Star Wars

The icy Battle of Hoth is one of the most memorable parts of original Star Wars trilogy. Tense action, high stakes and cool vehicles all came together to perfection. Glover was there leading the charge for the Empire as General Veers, commanding the offensive.

The majority of Glover’s autograph cards come from this role, dating back to 2014 Topps Star Wars Chrome Perspectives.

2. Indiana Jones

Glover’s only appearance in the Indiana Jones film came in The Last Crusade. That also happened to be the first film in the franchise not to get its own set of trading cards. However, 2008 Topps Indiana Jones Heritage help to correct the past’s mistakes. Much like his acting career, Glover impressively blends into the set’s autograph lineup. He might not carry the same weight as Harrison Ford or some of the other cornerstone stars and filmmakers on the checklist, but Glover’s no slouch, either.

1. James Bond

Glover was at his villainous best in the 1980s. For Your Eyes Only might be the best example of that as he squared off with Roger Moore’s James Bond. His turn as Kristatos also brought about Glover’s first autograph card in 2002 Rittenhouse James Bond 40th Anniversary. He’s been on a handful of other James Bond checklists, most recently in both of Upper Deck’s sets for the franchise.
