Our Grading Process

Beckett Grading Services uses a simple 10-point grading scale, with descending increments of one whole point (for example 10, 9, 8, etc.). Tickets are not evaluated with sub-grade notes.

Comprehensive Grade

Tickets are graded on four key categories: centering, corners, edges and surface. Beckett Grading is the first to use this proprietary system, which assures consistency in grading.

Pop report

Coming soon, we’re developing a new database to reflect Beckett-assessed ticket submissions. Tickets graded by Beckett will be verifiable on our Graded Ticket Lookup page.

Beckett will authenticate and grade tickets from most major sporting events such as MLB, NBA, and NFL regular season games, playoffs and finals games, PGA tour tickets, Olympic or Winter Olympic events, major boxing or WWE wrestling events, and more. Entertainment tickets, such as concerts, movie premieres and stand-up comedy shows, will also be accepted and graded by Beckett.

Yes, we do allow collectors to request a specific pedigree for the label. However, there is a limit of 50 characters per line of text and two lines maximum that can be utilized. Ultimately, it is at Beckett’s discretion what will appear on the label and all information must be verifiable by a credible source. Beckett will not make designations based on the race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity and/or expression, or sexual orientation of the subject. If no special text on the label is requested, Beckett will use our standard default designation for the ticket’s labeling.

Beckett will authenticate and grade tickets issued by ticketmaster, tickets.com and other select third-party ticket vendors. We can also authenticate and grade souvenir or commemorative tickets.

Beckett’s standard ticket case can accommodate a ticket up to 3.72” x 7.73” while the XL ticket case has maximum dimensions of 4.38” x 10”. A custom inner sleeve for your specific-sized item will be created for the most secure encapsulation available on the market. Regulation-size ticket stubs will be encapsulated in our standard (2.75" x 3.76") and/or Tall Boy (4”x5.53”) cases. There are some tickets that Beckett’s current holders cannot accommodate but additional sizes and dimensions may be available in the future as new cases are introduced.

Certification numbers can be verified by utilizing the Cert Verification page on our website or within the Beckett Mobile App.

If our ticket experts determine the ticket to be not authentic it will be returned to the customer raw (unencapsulated). Authentication fees are still charged as the determination to reject an item requires review by Beckett graders and authenticators.

All fees paid to Beckett are NON-REFUNDABLE once the order begins the authentication and grading process. Please note, tickets showing evidence of counterfeiting, tampering, or restoration will be charged the full amount according to the service option selected as the determination to reject an item requires review by Beckett graders and authenticators. Occasionally, our experts cannot express an opinion on a ticket. These will be designated as "Inconclusive" and a refund in the full amount of the authentication fee will be issued.
