eBay buys Goldin, sells Vault to PSA

RE: eBay buys Goldin, sells Vault to PSA
It is a slippery slope. Gambling, that is. I don't consider collecting sports cards (busting packs, specifically) to be gambling because although there is the element of chance with both, with actual gambling if you lose, you lose. There isn't any consolation prize. When you bust packs, even if you don't get any "hits", you are still getting some kind of value for your money.
There is a God and his name is Billy Joel

And in that sense it's almost worse, because it's hard to really define a "rock bottom" moment ... if you really need money you can always sell what you have, even if it's at a deep loss.

And if you don't need money, you have trade bait for days to get stuff you actually want.

Case in point - after Shohei left the Angels I only kept a few of his cards, because I really don't like the outdated stuff.

I took the rest to the LCS and traded them for some really nice cards for my main PCs.

And now Fanatics allows you to do both at the same time since they have the Fanatics Sportsbook which you get Fanatics Cash for every bet which presumably allows you to purchase sports cards with.

It's only a matter of time before it becomes "bet on X play to do Y and win an X player sportscard"

Like, you will soon be betting on the cards themselves ...

"If you hit the over on Luka Doncic scoring 30 points today, you win a special Topps Chrome Jackpot Parallel numbered to the number of successful wagers" or whatever
